Data Gives Back Inc. is a successful and rapidly growing corporate training and analytical consulting organization supporting CPG clients such as Walmart Canada, Summer Fresh Salads, and Cavendish Farms. Their dedication to giving back to the community and their commitment to creating a sustainable future led them on a journey to pursue B Corp certification.
Joe and Carly, the visionary founders of Data Gives Back Inc., were aware of the significance and benefits of B Corp certification but as with many small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), they did not have the necessary capacity, resources and knowledge to navigate the complex certification process whilst also running their business.
Joe and Carly connected with Kathryn at Realise Change, and it was clear that she had the knowledge and experience to expedite the certification process for Data Gives Back Inc, at a speed and consulting level that worked for them. She took the time to deeply understand their business model, values and culture, enabling Joe and Carly to focus on their clients while being confident that Kathryn was guiding them towards becoming a certified B Corp.
The journey began with Kathryn conducting a comprehensive impact assessment of Data Gives Back Inc.'s operations and structure, aligning them with the rigorous requirements set by B Lab (the governing and certifying body for B Corps). Based on the assessment, Kathryn made recommendations for improvements and provided benchmark data for context. Together, they collaboratively built frameworks, governance structures, and refined processes to bridge any existing gaps and ensure readiness for the certification application.
Kathryn's involvement did not end with the application submission. She remained a dedicated liaison between Data Gives Back Inc. and B Lab. This comprehensive support provided peace of mind to Joe and Carly, who could confidently focus on running their business, knowing that Kathryn was leading the certification process on their behalf.
Thanks to the combined efforts of Data Gives Back Inc. and Kathryn's guidance, the company received their certified B Corp status in a remarkably short time frame. From the moment they submitted their application to the day they were officially certified; a mere eight weeks had elapsed. This achievement was a pivotal moment for Joe and Carly, who had always aspired to become a B Corp but never imagined it would happen so fast.
Being on our B Corp certification journey has opened so many doors. It gives a level of trust and validation for us as a company that helps build strong relationships with other organizations and clients which would have been harder to achieve otherwise.
